We entrepreneurs can be tough to buy gifts for. Because we work so much, we don’t have a lot of time for hobbies. Or friends. Or any sort of social life. You could purchase me a new fishing rod, but odds are I won’t get to use it much. I’ve got too much to do and not enough time to do it.
This leaves a lot of people feeling stuck when it comes time to shop for that special entrepreneur in their life.
Let me help. In the interest of public service and hopefully getting some really awesome stuff this year, here are 10 fantastic gift ideas for entrepreneurs this holiday season.
BEAN BOX SUBSCRIPTION
FACT: Every great invention was conceived over a cup of coffee. Most, if not all entrepreneurs, myself included, consume astonishing amounts of coffee. Bean Box is a great gift for the entrepreneur who loves to drink high-quality coffee. For only $17/month, they’ll receive 4 unique, specialty coffees from Seattle’s top roasters every month. This is an inexpensive way to fuel their caffeine habit and help them build their business.
NOOTROBOX SUBSCRIPTION
As I noted in my article earlier this week, nootropics are supplements designed to improve mental functions. It’s a bit pricey, but Nootrobox is a great gift idea for the entrepreneur who needs to have their brain working at max capacity for long hours. With their Rise, Sprint, and Yawn supplements, Nootrobox promises to keep the brain firing on all cylinders.
GYM MEMBERSHIP / FITNESS CLASSES
Entrepreneurs are notoriously unhealthy. We work too much, sleep too little, and ingest too much unhealthy food. Give the entrepreneur in your life a nudge in the right direction by gifting them a gym membership. If you really want to help them get fired up, sign them up for personal training sessions!
LIFESPAN TREADMILL DESK
Yes, this costs a buttload, but it’s the ideal gift for an entrepreneur who is chained to their desk for hours at a time. That gym membership / personal trainer may not have worked out, but with this desk, they can get that workout in while they’re working.
TASK MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
There’s a good chance that the entrepreneur in your life is pretty disorganized, with tasks scattered across Post-It notes, whiteboards, and emails. What they need is high-powered task management software. While there are literally hundreds to choose from, some of the most well-respected are Omnifocus, Things, Todoist, Wunderlist, and Nozbe.
PRODUCTIVITY BOOKS
The entrepreneur always feels the tension of too much to do and not enough time. Something an entrepreneur generally appreciates is a serious shot of productivity creativity. Getting Things Done by David Allen presents a productivity system that encompasses all of life. Manage Your Day-To-Day, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and The 4-Hour Work Week are also outstanding books.
EVERNOTE SUBSCRIPTION
Evernote is the perfect tool for the entrepreneur who needs to remember everything. It allows users to store, organize, and search just about every type of file imaginable. Documents can be scanned and uploaded. Voice memos can be recorded and filed for future reference. Photos can be organized and indexed. And if you use the Evernote Moleskine, even handwritten notes can be scanned and made searchable.
ZAPIER SUBSCRIPTION
Zapier, where have you been my whole life? Simply put, Zapier makes different web applications work together. Want to make Typeform and Google Sheets communicate with each other? Zapier can do that. Want to create a Google Doc for every sale in your online Shopify store? Zapier can do that as well. Want to create a Google Calendar reminder from an Evernote reminder? Thank you, Zapier. This is the perfect gift for the entrepreneur who does most of their work online.
KICK-ASS TABLET
Yes, tablets are expensive, but they are incredibly useful for entrepreneurs. More and more, tablets are able to entirely replace clunky laptops. The Apple iPad Pro is my tablet of choice, but if you aren’t an Apple fanboy, the Samsung Galaxy tablet is a solid option as well.
ROBOT BARTENDER
At the end of the day (or middle, if he’s Don Draper), your entrepreneur may need a cocktail to help them relax and unwind. The Somabar can mix up their favorite drinks in about 5 seconds. And with 300 different concoctions available, they can go a good portion of the year before having to try the same drink twice!
Santa can’t see your entrepreneur when they’re sleeping…because they never sleep. However, these gifts may make things just a bit easier while they’re awake.
And if you want to give any of these gifts to me, you know where to find me.
