Today it seems like the average person carries hundreds if not thousands of dollars of electronics with them wherever they go. Laptops, tablets, and other gadgets are all essentials, yet most bags don’t do much to prevent theft. ClickPack Pro is an anti-theft backpack designed specifically to protect users from criminals. It’s built with slash resistant fabric, has a retractable metal cable lock, a TSA-compliant lock, is shock-proof, and is built to repel water. It’s worth noting that the metal cable lock has a maximum bearing strength of 50kg.
While traditional backpack zippers are vulnerable to puncture from pens and other items, the 8RCW zipper is an offering from YKK, which is a zipper with a double coil chain. Aside from physical threats, ClickPack also is designed to protect users from cybercrime with the built-in RFID-blocking pouch which prevents skimmers from accessing credit/debit card details.
Aside from the anti-crime component of the backpack, there are a few practical elements worth noting. The double layer rain protection protects the interior from the elements, but it also comes with a rain cover and carrying bag. There also are built-in reflectors which are designed to be seen up to 100 feet ahead, and an attachable suitcase handle which makes it easier for users to be out and about.
To help make it easier for users to organize their belongings the pack has icons which designate where to store things. There are compartments and pouches for a 15.6” laptop, iPad, USB charging cable, mouse, power cord, clothes, tickets, pens, electronic products, and toiletries. In addition to simplifying organization, users also benefit from the ability to charge their electronic devices anytime, anywhere.
In order to make it easier to carry heavy loads, the wrap-around shoulder strap helps to relieve the weight on the user’s shoulder. The pack also hugs the users pack to reduce and evenly distribute weight. The materials are also made from a breathable material which forms to the body’s shape.
The bags proprietary fabric is 60% polymer polyethylene fabric, 30% black ultra-fine industrial-level polyester silk, and 10% military level glass fiber. It’s 40% stronger than Kevlar (by measuring the tensile strength-to-weight ratio) and is two times stronger than carbon fiber.
So far the makers of ClickPack Pro have raised over $858,000 via crowdfunding with an estimated shipping date as early as June 2017. Early bird pricing for the device starts at $119 which is 40% off the suggested retail price of $198.
