The world’s first car tire pressure monitor that detects slow leaks is currently killing the funding game on Indiegogo. The ZUS Smart Tire Safety Monitor has raised $293,808 USD with 2356 backers. This project is 1469% funded, people clearly want a better knowledge of what’s going on with their tires.
We have to agree it is really annoying to go to the gas station to use those loud air pumping machines to check our car’s tires, some of us are not even good at it (guilty!). ZUS Smart Tire Monitor can view individual tire pressure where you can see it from your phone. It can detect slow leaks before it becomes a serious problem and can improve gas mileage.
The four sensors are attached to each car tire where it detects tire temperature and pressure in real time. You can view this data through the in-car receiver which appears on the ZUS app via Bluetooth. You can see the tire pressures (PSI/PA/Bar/k) and the tire temperatures on your phone. If there is an issue with any of your tires, the receiver will blink, and an alarm will go off to let you know. You can also get notifications from the app if there is anything weird going on with your tires. Talk about communicating with your tires through your phone.
As you may know, slow leaks can be hard to find. (Try not to drive on loose nails.) How ZUS tackles, this is they record the tire pressure and temperature history and letting their AccurateTemp Algorithm to normalize the temperature changes in a day. This way it’s easier to see whether your tires have air leakage or it’s just the temperature outside that is affecting your tires.
Flat tires can cost you a lot on fuel annually so knowing when your car tire has low pressure can help you save money on gas fuel. Another cool thing ZUS Smart Tire Monitor comes with is the locking system. There are 4 locking nuts that you can place which locks the sensor into its place on your tire so not only no one can steal the sensors, they also won’t fall off while you’re driving. The receiver in the car can turn into a charger where you can plug your cable in any direction.
This device was created by Nonda, a smart hardware startup based in Silicon Valley. They have previously created products like ZUS Smart Car Charger and ZUS Super Duty Cable. For their new device, ZUS Smart Tire Monitor is scheduled for delivery for this August.
